Stress Relieving DC53 ?
#1
We currently are running a job with a lot of machining is there any benefit to stress relieving DC53 prior machining our parts? At what temperature would you recommend we stress relieve? Thanks

Stress relieving before machining will minimize movement of virtually any grade of steel. This is particullarler true and becomes more inportant when removing excessive amounts of material. The optimum temperature will vary based on a given steels chemistry. For DC53 that temperature is 600 degrees Celsius (1,110 degrees Fahrenheit).
