The ability to get the heat out of the steel offers several advantages. Using Toolox 44 as an example, given the same cooling as an H13 core and cavity, the face of the die will operate 50 degree’s C to 75 degrees C cooler. This reduces thermal shock, and soldering. The ability to get the heat out of the aluminum part faster gives you a better chill zone on the part, better mechanical properties due to the faster cooling, and allows for reduced cycle time.
